The 19th biannual symposium ACUTE LEUKEMIAS (ISALXIX) will be held from Sunday, March 16 to Wednesday, March 19, 2025, in Munich, Germany.

We encourage all colleagues who are interested in actively participating with a free contribution to submit their abstracts. The Scientific Committee will review all abstracts for participation in the on-site Poster Viewing and Discussion Session (MSV) or for oral presentation in Main Session IX (Best of Free Conbtributions Session).

We offer authors the option to publish open access books and chapters in a wide range of areas within science, technology and medicine (STM) and within the humanities and social sciences (HSS).
Open access allows unrestricted online access to your ebook with no reading or subscription fees. Authors retain copyright and are able to comply with funders‘ open access mandates. Our open access academic books and chapters on average receive 10 times more downloads, 2.4 times more citations, and 10 times more online mentions compared to non-open access books. Open access books can have a more geographically diverse readership, reaching on average 61% more countries than non-open access books. Each open access scholarly book or chapter receives the same editorial and publishing expertise, rigorous peer review and high quality production process that non-open access books receive.

For all ISALXIX abstract submitters this new Open access means:
The abstract supplement of the 19th International Symposium ISALXIX – Munich, March 16-19, 2025, published in Annals of Hematology will be freely available to read to everyone – including congress participants of course.

From January 2025 on, SPRINGER will not have any subscription content in the journal anymore, which would be only accessible behind a paywall. From next year on all articles published in the journal will be published under the open access model, meaning everyone around the world has free access to the content published in the journal free of charge.

Submission Deadline, Review Process and Eligibility Criteria for Abstracts

Abstracts must be submitted online to info@acute-leukemias.de) by October 31, 2024 (23:59 CET).
There is a € 30 non-refundable handling fee for submission of each abstract. Payment must be received until October 31, 2024, by wire transfer to the official ISAL account: PDF

Abstracts cannot be submitted and will not be reviewed without proper payment and completion of the “Submission Information” and “Disclosure” sections of the online abstract submission program

Each abstract will be reviewed by at least three independent scientific reviewers from the International Scientific Committee according to the following 6 eligibility criteria:

1) background and rationale for study

2) appropriateness of methods

3) presentation of results

4) conclusions and interpretations of results

5) significance and

6) overall clarity

Only Abstracts meeting the above eligibility criteria will be accepted
– for publication in the symposium proceedings and
– for presentation in poster session MS V on Monday, February 17, 2025, as well as
– for one of the below poster awards.

Notification of acceptance of your abstract for poster presentation and for publication in the symposium proceedings ISALXIX in ANNALS OF HEMATOLOGY will be received by November 15, 2025, (23:59 CET).

Registration Deadline for Abstract Submitters

Once an abstract is accepted, the presenting author as the sole contact for all further processing and correspondence regarding the abstract, the participation in Poster Session (MSV) and Publication in Annals of Hematology (unless otherwise specified under the “Contact Information”) has to officially register by October 31, 2025.

Poster Session (MSV)

MONDAY, March 17, 2025: 16:00 – 18:00 (CET) (MS V: Poster Viewing and Discussion Session)
For participation in the Poster Session MS V on Monday, March 17, 2025, between 16:00 and 18:00 (CET) your poster has to be mounted during the official ISALXIX opening hours. To give the Poster Committee members the possibility to preview the posters and to be eligible for one of the below mentioned awards and prizes your poster must be mounted until Monday, March 17, 2025 (13:00 CET) at the latest.
Failure to meet the above-mentioned deadlines will result in the complete removal of presenting privileges and will appear as “Presentation not Available”

Posters will be presented on the Upper Floor of the symposium venue. All poster presenters are being asked for their in-person presence in front of their poster/s to allow all participants and members of the jury to talk to the presenters and have a personal scientific exchange about their poster(s).

 

Poster Awards

Again, two Poster Awards of € 500 and the 3 Best-of-Free-Contributions Awards will be granted to young scientists whose abstract has been accepted for presentation in the poster session.
The 2 Poster Awards (PA) will be chosen out of all posters presented in the poster viewing session. They will be judged by the 2 members of the Poster Award Committee (PAC). Each awardee will be awarded a prize of € 500 hnaded over during the Poster Award Ceremony (MS IX).
The 3 Best-of-Free-Contributions Awards (BoFCA): will be chosen from all submitted abstracts which have been accepted for presentation in the poster session. They will be judged by the Scientific Committee Members and will be granted a 10 minutes’ presentation of their abstract contribution in the Poster Award Ceremony (MS IX)

 

ISALXIX Encore Abstract Policy

ISALXIX Munich March 16-19, 2025, welcomes the submission of abstracts which have been previously presented at national, regional or international meetings in the two years preceding the symposium.
Encore abstracts must however clearly be documented and identified as such at the time of submission. To be eligible and accepted, the encore abstract must be updated and include significant additional current data to distinguish itself from the previous presentation/s.
Submission will not be permitted if a manuscript has been published before.

ISALXIX Late-Breaking Abstract Policy

Late-breaking abstracts may be submitted for high quality, new research findings with major impact on clinical practice or the understanding of disease processes. The abstract must not have been previously published in any publication in a peer review setting or presented at a meeting of any other scientific organization prior to ISASLXIX March 16-19, 2025.

Only abstracts for which no data of evidential value have been available at the time of the official regular abstract submission deadline of October 31, 2024 (23:59 CET) will be considered for late-breaking status. The late-breaking abstract submission site will open from

Monday February 10, 2025, through Sunday, February 16, 2025 (23:59 CET).

Late-Breaking Abstract Submission Instructions and Review Process
The abstract must include the title, first author (with full contact details), objectives, rationale, methodic procedure and anticipated data. All further details and abstract guidelines as well as the abstract form will be available as soon as the late-breaking abstract submission site has been opened.

The ISALXIX 2025 Scientific Committee will review all abstracts indicated as late-breaking abstract and first authors will be notified until Monday February 24, 2025, whether the submitted work has been accepted for the presentation
– at the ISASLXIX Poster Presentation and Discussion Session (MS V) and/or
– as an oral presentation in the Prize Giving Ceremony (MS IX)
– PLEASE NOTE: Late breaking submitted abstracts cannot be included in the ISALXIX symposium proceedings published in ANNALS OF HEMATOLOGY.

Registration Deadline for Late Breaking Abstract Submitters
To be included in Poster Sessions MS V all presenters of a late breaking abstract must be officially registered and have paid their registration fees by Friday February 28, 2025.
